About Me
My name is Thomas Huey, and I am currently working towards a degree in biochemistry from the University of California, San Diego. All my life, I've had a passion for food and cooking has long since been a hobby of mine. Seeking higher degree has opened my eyes to the complex nature of cooking, and the fantastic chemistry that goes on behind the scenes, often unappreciated. My goal with this site is to help illuminate some of this science in a bite-size manner that anyone can understand and enjoy.
As a chemistry student, it seemed natural to have an academic life separate from my personal one. However, I was mistaken in imagining that the two are mutually exclusive. Chemistry and biology form the world around us, and my studies have given me a peek behind the curtain.
